Checking In

Hi!!  First of all, I want to say we are all okay and doing great!  Y'all are so sweet to email and check on us since I haven't posted in months.  I have a lot of reasons for not posting but nothing really earth shattering.  Ha!  The main reason is that Reagan pulled my camera off the counter back in September so I haven't had a camera (besides my phone) since then.  I haven't done one thing to my house.  I didn't even decorate for fall!  That even shocked me. :)  I am sewing every free minute I have.  We just got really busy this fall with BSF, Mother's Day Out and Awanas.  Those are pretty much the reasons why I am not posting.  But I do post almost daily on Instagram.  My ID is "blessournest" if you would like to follow there!
The wonderful Amber Dickey took our pictures a few weeks ago and I love them!  Westin and Reagan are growing up so quickly!  I cannot believe how fast it goes.
This is seriously the only change I have made to our house.  I've been wanting a large window to go over the mantle and finally found one!  Here is the before:

And the after:

Cody and I talked today about re-painting our kitchen, living room and dining room.  They have been the same colors since the day we moved in.  We are ready for a change!

We got my sewing machine and supplies out of the dining room (finally!) and set up a little corner in the guest room.  I absolutely love going in here during nap time and just sewing away.

Speaking of sewing, here are a few things I've sewn recently.  A baby doll and super hero for Reagan and Westin.  We made these in our sewing group and used a free pattern we found on pinterest.

This is a knot dress with a removable apron.  Reagan will wear it for Thanksgiving with the apron but without the apron after that.

I'm excited for Reagan to wear this outfit around Christmas!

And this dress.

Thanksgiving shirts for a friend's daughters.

I didn't leave Westin out.  I made him a turkey shirt.  :)  You can see it on instagram along with many more sewing projects and pictures of our day to day life!

Thanks again for checking on us!  I probably won't be posting on here again anytime soon.  My passion has just moved on to sewing and instagram.  :)

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

NO! I am so sad to read this! Please keep blogging! lol You are one of my favorites. :)

You are so, so talented with sewing and I want you to know that I finally attempted my first appliques thanks to your tutorial you posted ages ago. I am NOT a "sew-er" at ALL so if you noticed that page getting a ton of random hits one was me. haha! But I survived and now I'm addicted to fabric pile is growing. Thanks for starting me on such a fun addiction. :)

Please keep blogging every now and then for those of us not on Instagram! Please? ;)

Ive been "stalking" your blog for a while but never commented. Omg! I'm glad you posted too! I knew you were sewing! Can you come up to syracuse, ny and teach me! I'm dying for ruffle pants for my Ava!

You are so talented. I absolutely love your little sewing area and seeing your sewing projects on IG or on the blog. I'm just thankful that your family is doing well…well besides the camera. :)
What kind of sewing machine did you get? Does it do the reverse stitch easy? I"m really lazy about using mine because the bobbin is a pain and the reverse stitch is almost too much for my fingers/joints to manage. Looking at sewing machines overwhelm me.
Anyhow, I hope you have a great Thankgiving and a very Merry Christmas. :)

Oh gosh, I agree, I am so sad you are stopping blogging. Your posts are always so sweet to read. I don't have anything that will allow me on Instagram. It is so frustrating that I can't see everyone's photos. I just don't think I need an Iphone or Ipad or anything I at this time hah hah

Hope you reconsider.

God Bless.

That's awesome you love doing the appliqu├ęs! They are so fun!

You don't have to have Instagram on your phone actually. If you go to you can set up a profile and then check it like you would blogs. :)

Thank you for your sweet comment!

Thank you, Brittany!

I wish I could! I'd love to go to NY. :) the ruffle pant pattern that I love is a viola lee pattern from etsy. It's a good one!

Hi! I love my new sewing machine!! It is a brother HC1850. I got in on amazon. It is so easy to wind the bobbin and the reverse stitch is just a button you push. In fact I don't even sew with my foot pedal at all. But you can if you want too. :)

Hi! Hopefully you still check your comments because I just have a quick question. Where did you get the fabric that you used for the Christmas pant set? The one with the snowman apron? It is darling! Everything you made is really cute and I'm glad things are going well for you and your family. I had wondered what happened to you but figured it was just life and kids! Thanks so much and enjoy your holiday season!

Hi! All that fabric came from Joann's!

Thank you, Denise!

Love this :-) I've been a slacker blogger lately too. Lots of people have started saying "IG is the new blog" I'm starting to think it's true! haha!

I've been procrastinating about instagram but if that is the way I can follow you, I will learn it.
Glad to hear you are all well, I've been concerned.
