I changed out the shams, quilt, accent pillow and duvet to a much warmer color. It doesn't have to be expensive either. I got this duvet cover at TJ Maxx on clearance for $25. The quilt and shams were Christmas gifts last year from my parents but I have seen similar ones at TJ, Target and even Walmart. I already had the accent pillow. The key is to not have to change everything. I just chose a few key pieces and got a whole new look.

What a great room...I love your warmer bedding. I just bought some velvet pillow shams that I am planning to switch out for winter. I am some what limited with all the "color" in my room!

Very nice! I usually use my regular, palm designed comforter in the winter and switch to matlesaiise (butchered that spelling, where is spell check when you need it?) in the winter.

I really love how you changed just a few pieces for a BIG impact!! Do you mind if I ask what color paint you have on your walls in your bedroom? Jeremy didn't trust me either, but I think more than the trust, he didn't want to do it himself! It was easier than I thought, I have never used the drill before!

I love it. I used to change my bedding every season too..that was before we got a King sized bed years ago...Now, its too expensive to change out.

Love it! Im trying to figure out what to do with my bed coverings. I want layers of pillows like yours...poor husb cringes at the thought of having to move that many pillows at night. He said as long as he can just plop into bed and lay his head on them. Of course he CANT!
I meant to say in my (previous) comment that we have the same bedroom wall color from what I can tell by the picture. Our bedding is off white though with colored pillows. Again, your bedroom is so cozy looking and warm!

Oh and I'm not sure if you all have Linens-n-Things by you, but you should go there! They filed for bankruptcy and have so many cute things for the bedroom so cheap...I found the most beutiful bed-in-a-bags that came with shams and decorative pillows... :-)
